Welcome to Truro's state-of-the-art music lesson centre located at 188 Robie Street. We are proud to offer 6 well equipped lesson studios, 2 large group lesson studios, and Truro's finest faculty of independent music teachers. If you've ever aspired to learn a musical instrument, this is the place for you! Whether you want to take guitar lessons, piano lessons, or perhaps always wanted to sing, whatever your choice, our music teachers are here to help you on your journey. Angela Dwyer
Angela holds a Masters of Arts in Education focusing on Lifelong Learning, and strongly believes that music can be an essential part of our overall wellness.
She has performed in a variety ensembles on ukulele, bass and piano including The Chalmers Doane Trio, has directed countless ukulele groups including the Marigold Ukulele Players and has sung in a variety of choirs including the Cantabile Singer of Truro, Creative Voices and the Symphony Nova Scotia Chorus.
She has years of experience teaching and believes that music can not only serve as a way to develop critical thinking, but also can be a vehicle for building social groups, a companion through serious illness, a team builder for a staff group, and also be a joyful activity for seniors. She is thrilled to be at Long and McQuade to help others realize their musical goals and dreams!

From a long line of Celts (Cape Breton, prior to that Western Highlands of Scotland), Rhonda MacLellan has been performing and teaching Celtic music – fiddling with interspersed vocals – for more than 30 years. This type of fiddling is also for those that want to learn to play by ear and capture the harmonies and counterparts on a fiddle; additionally, learn to perform. Rhonda also teaches violin and viola. Rhonda also teaches piano, including teaching chording and accompaniment on piano. Rhonda has done a lot of solo work, plus played, and sung with numerous bands, choirs and orchestras, all including a large component of solo/leads. A few examples of performing and teaching – opening act (solo fiddle and vocals) on the Vanoc Stage at the 2010 Olympics, International choir ‘Spiritsong’ that toured Europe, taught fiddle at College of the Rockies in BC, two Messiah choirs, and presently keyboardist for Caledonian Orchestra of NS. Welcoming all skill levels including beginners age 7 and up. Rhonda’s rate is $27 for a 1⁄2-hour private lesson.
