Alex is a talented saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist with 20 years of playing experience. He is currently pursuing a music degree through Berklee College of Music. Alex is a thorough and patient teacher with 8 years experience teaching privately at local studios and with the Holy Spirit Marching Band. Alex emphasizes musicality, each lesson building on the previous ones, and of course, having fun. Alex is well-versed in many styles of music including, but not limited to, rock, funk, jazz, and classical. When not teaching, studying or recording, you can catch Alex gigging across Ontario with his band, Fun Fact. In addition, Alex is an official artist for Spector Basses.
His rate is $29.00/half-hour private lesson.

Kristine A. Musgrove graduated from Western University with a Ph.D. in Music Education where her research focused on pedagogy employed in secondary instrumental ensembles. Additionally, she holds a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Florida International University in Miami, Florida and a Bachelor of Music from Stetson University in Deland, Florida.
Kristine has experience teaching percussion (i.e., concert band, orchestra, percussion ensemble, percussion methods, marching band, drumset) to all ages in various contexts. Before attending Western University, she was employed as a secondary music educator in the states where she taught instrumental and vocal music courses.
Her rate is $29.00/half-hour private lesson.

Melissa holds a Master's Degree in Music Performance and Literature from Western University, where she also obtained an Undergraduate Degree in Music Education. A talented clarinetist, flutist and saxophonist, as well as an arts manager, working in the non-profit art scene for the past four years, Melissa is also the co-founder and clarinetist of the contemporary chamber ensemble Koine Project. She is well versed in teaching all musical styles aiming to create an open and fun learning environment.
Her rate is $30.00/half-hour private lesson.

Oscar Abley is a multi-instrumentalist, sound engineer, and music educator from London, Ontario. They play saxophone and guitar in ensembles throughout London, and are a frequent attendee of the various weekly jams at the Poachers Arms. As a performer, Oscar is known for their enthusiastic stage presence/direction and rhythmic playing. As a teenager and young adult, Oscar spent many summers playing guitar, bass, and ukulele at summer camps, in schools, and privately. They studied classical saxophone and mathematics at the University of Ottawa before moving to the MIA program at Fanshawe College, graduating in 2023 and receiving the Instrumentalist of the Year and EMAC Band Of The Year awards.
As a teacher, Oscar is known for their personable and modern takes on incorporating music into everyday life. They emphasize the importance and intrinsic reward of learning how to make music that expresses one’s personal voice. Oscar runs a diverse and accepting studio, especially concerning LGBTQIA+ students.
Oscar's lesson rate is $30.00 per half hour private lesson.

COLOURFUL MUSIC - Scott McIlwraith

“What colour is music?”
The Colourful Music program invites participants to explore and understand music through a vibrant, visually driven composition process. By blending games, writing, visual art, and hands-on manipulatives with musical study, this multidisciplinary approach nurtures creativity, personal expression, and deeper musical understanding. Participants will create at least one original composition during each session.
This course is an hour long and runs in two groups alternating bi-weekly on Thursdays.
Session 1A/2A is from 4:00pm -5:00pm Alternating
Session 1B/2B is from 5:00pm -6:00pm Alternating
