Alex is a talented saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist with 20 years of playing experience. He is currently pursuing a music degree through Berklee College of Music. Alex is a thorough and patient teacher with 8 years experience teaching privately at local studios and with the Holy Spirit Marching Band. Alex emphasizes musicality, each lesson building on the previous ones, and of course, having fun. Alex is well-versed in many styles of music including, but not limited to, rock, funk, jazz, and classical. When not teaching, studying or recording, you can catch Alex gigging across Ontario with his band, Fun Fact. In addition, Alex is an official artist for Spector Basses. His rate is $27.00/half-hour private lesson.

Chris has been playing violin and piano since 1983 and has been teaching privately since 1995. He holds Royal Conservatory Grade 10 diplomas for both violin and piano. Chris has played with several local orchestras, including Orchestra London and the University of Western Ontario Symphony Orchestra on violin and viola. He held the position of principal second violin with the Stratford Symphony Orchestra and is a member of various worship teams in the area. Chris enjoys recording for different artists, playing for local bands, and has had his violin playing featured on TV. His rate is $28.00/half-hour private lesson.

Cuban violinist Yanet Campbell Secades is an accomplished soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician. She holds a Master of Music from Memorial University of Newfoundland and an Artist Diploma from The Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Currently pursuing her doctorate at the University of Western Ontario, Yanet is committed to both, her performance and teaching career. With extensive teaching experience in Cuba, Canada, and the Bahamas, she customizes lessons to meet each student's individual goals, providing a personalized and enriching learning experience. In her vibrant violin studio, Yanet creates a nurturing environment that encourages students to explore and realize their musical potential. Her lesson rate is $28/half hour lesson.

SONGWRITING & DEMO WORKSHOP - Benjamin Heffernan

Explore the songwriting process in a creative, collaborative environment alongside other songwriters. This group class with Ben Heffernan will focus on lyric writing, different types of songwriting processes, and using various writing exercises in order to explore new territory as songwriters. Participants will come away from the workshop with at least one finished demo recording of an original song. All genres of songwriters are welcome.
Students must bring headphones and a laptop with an Intel Core I5 Processor. Additional gear will be provided. Personal instruments welcome!
This class runs every week for 8 weeks from 6pm-8pm starting on Monday, March 18th and ends on Monday, May 13th 2024. Ages 16+
Note: There will no lesson on April 15th
Cost is $160.00 for the class.
ADULT BEGINNER GUITAR CLASS - Matthew Martin

A welcoming and engaging class for complete adult beginners to guitar, or students who have been dabbling for a while but feel like they missed out on the basics. Matt will take you from the basics of how to hold the guitar, to playing notes, chords, and strumming patterns. By the end of the class students will have learned the foundations of good guitar technique and applied that to playing simple melodies and chords for popular songs.They will also learn how to read tabs, chord diagrams and chord charts.
Students will learn from handouts provided by the teacher and the book “First 50 Campfire Songs You Should Learn on Guitar”.

Timeline: Every Friday from 7pm-8:30pm starting April 19th (Last class June 7th) - 8 weeks

COLOURFUL MUSIC - Scott McIlwraith

Create personalized compositions and visual art pieces in this game-based, multidisciplinary, music theory class! In each 60-minute session, students aim to collect as many notes as possible through a variety of music themed games. When finished, students use their collected notes to create songs and pictures personal to them. Students will perform and share their works of art at the end of each class. Open to beginner students ages 4 - 14, each 60-minute group class will be on Saturdays with sessions from 10 - 6 PM. Optional choice for this group to be weekly or bi-weekly. Cost is $17.00 per session.
