Alex is a talented saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist with 20 years of playing experience. He is currently pursuing a music degree through Berklee College of Music. Alex is a thorough and patient teacher with 8 years experience teaching privately at local studios and with the Holy Spirit Marching Band. Alex emphasizes musicality, each lesson building on the previous ones, and of course, having fun. Alex is well-versed in many styles of music including, but not limited to, rock, funk, jazz, and classical. When not teaching, studying or recording, you can catch Alex gigging across Ontario with his band, Fun Fact. In addition, Alex is an official artist for Spector Basses. His rate is $27.00/half-hour private lesson.

Chris has been playing violin and piano since 1983 and has been teaching privately since 1995. He holds Royal Conservatory Grade 10 diplomas for both violin and piano. Chris has played with several local orchestras, including Orchestra London and the University of Western Ontario Symphony Orchestra on violin and viola. He held the position of principal second violin with the Stratford Symphony Orchestra and is a member of various worship teams in the area. Chris enjoys recording for different artists, playing for local bands, and has had his violin playing featured on TV. His rate is $28.00/half-hour private lesson.

Cuban violinist Yanet Campbell Secades is an accomplished soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician. She holds a Master of Music from Memorial University of Newfoundland and an Artist Diploma from The Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Currently pursuing her doctorate at the University of Western Ontario, Yanet is committed to both, her performance and teaching career. With extensive teaching experience in Cuba, Canada, and the Bahamas, she customizes lessons to meet each student's individual goals, providing a personalized and enriching learning experience. In her vibrant violin studio, Yanet creates a nurturing environment that encourages students to explore and realize their musical potential. Her lesson rate is $28/half hour lesson.

Join us for July Rock Skool! Play popular songs, learn about live sound, excellent rock history... and of course, the final performance for admiring fans (family & friends). Rock on under the skilled guidance of our experienced instructors, Kelly and Alex! Cost is $300 for Monday July 8th to Friday July 12th. Classes run from 10 AM to 1 PM. Two groups will be running for varying age groups. Younger rockers will ages 9-12 will be in group one and rockstars ages 13-16 will be in group two!

Our July drum classes, open to all levels, provide a fun and structured learning environment tailored to students' age groups. Each session covers snare drum technique, music reading, and rudiments. Students will learn exercises to improve technique and coordination, and progress to lessons on different grips, stroke types, and posture. As students advance, we emphasize reading music and mastering rhythmic patterns, exploring rudiments like single strokes and paradiddles. With consistent practice and feedback, students build a strong drumming foundation, preparing them for musical adventures ahead!
This course is perfect for the orchestral and concert band drummer! It is a continuing program that can be taken in July, August or both.

An opportunity to collaborate with others playing the music you love! Come join Adult Jam Band, open for musicians of all ability. Open to instruments including drum, bass, guitar, saxophone, banjo, mandolin, voice. Music will be chosen by participants upon arrival. We look forward to seeing you there!

Lace up your boots and get ready to drum! With this 4 day course. Students will learn the fundamentals of drumming in a variety of genres including Rock, Jazz, Latin, Funk, and more! Drum Boot Camp is a program designed to teach the foundations of a variety of genres on the drum kit!
This course is run by our fabulous instructor Kelly Currie, who will teach students the basics of the genres allowing them to master playing the drum kit in any musical space!

Want to work on your chords and strumming while learning fun campfire songs and jamming in a relaxed, guided group setting? Campfire Jams is the group for you! Songs will be selected and arranged to fit the tastes and playing levels of the group. Get ready for all your summer campfire adventures with a little help from your friends at Long & McQuade!
Some experience playing chords on guitar or ukulele is recommended. Singing along will be encouraged but not required! Music will be provided.

This group will run on Thursdays from 1:00-2:30pm at the London North Long & McQuade Lessons Centre located at 725 Fanshawe Park Road West. Please note there is no class Thursday July 11th and Thursday July 16th.
