Adrian Casas - Violin music lessons in Regina

Adrian Casas (Violin)

Adrian started his formal music studies in 1999 at the Mexico State School of Fine Arts, where he studied violin and voice. He continued his music education at the National Conservatory of Music of Mexico, where he studied violin as well as conducting and theory. In 2005, Adrian moved to Canada and earned a Bachelor of Violin Performance and a Master of Instrumental Conducting, both from the University of Regina.
Adrian is the Music Director of the Regina Community Orchestra and also serves as assistant conductor for the University of Regina Orchestra with Dr. Alain Perron. In addition, he is the vice president of the Saskatchewan Orchestral Association and is an active member of the music community in Saskatchewan as an educator, performer and conductor.

Alea Cummins - Piano music lessons in Regina

Alea Cummins (Piano)

Alea has many years of piano study behind her where her focus has been on contemporary idioms and arranging. She is also currently working on advanced levels of Royal Conservatory piano, including theory. Although she specializes in pop music, she is fluent in many other styles including classical and jazz. Alea accompanied her high school choir and drama club and played percussion with her high school band. She also has experience playing the guitar and violin. Alea has excelled at the Long and McQuade annual piano festival in distinction orchestral classes three years running and has been the recipient of the overall adjudicators choice award and scholarship three times as well.

Andrew Bent - Drums music lessons in Regina

Andrew Bent (Drums)

Andrew has been playing drums since the age of 12. He has been teaching for 2 years and has also been a sought after substitute with Long & McQuade. Andrew finished in the Canadian top 10 in the Roland V-Drum Solo Contest in 2013 and 2014. He is also an excellent and focused guitar player. Andrew focuses on teaching standard groove elements, common coordination, note reading, as well as encouraging improvisational skills. He is also very versatile on the kit, teaching several different styles of music including rock, metal, pop, funk and jazz. Andrew recently completed the Audio Engineering Program with Honours at the Recording Arts Institute of Saskatchewan (RAIS)

Ashley Phaneuf - Piano music lessons in Regina

Ashley Phaneuf (Piano)

Ashley is fluent in many different styles of music including popular, jazz, classical and arranging and creativity. She has completed an extensive teacher training program and continues to work on advanced levels of RCM piano and theory. Ashley has been teaching piano lessons to students of all ages in Regina since 2013.

Bailey Smith - Voice, Piano music lessons in Regina

Bailey Smith (Voice, Piano)

Bailey has been pursuing music since childhood. She completed her Bachelor of Music Education Degree in 2018 with a Voice concentration and a minor in Inclusive Education. She has also been playing piano for 15 years and has completed advanced levels of RCM. Bailey was selected to sing with the National Youth Choir in the summer months of 2016-2018, and has also worked at the Chinook School of Music in Calgary teaching summer camps as well as private voice and piano lessons. You can find Bailey teaching voice and piano lessons at Long and McQuade, or at O’Neill High School where she is a choir teacher.

Becca O

Becca O'Krancy (Piano)

Becca started learning the piano in 1997, when she was 4 years old, at Long & McQuade under the instruction of Kristine Beer. She also enjoyed learning the violin for 5 years and was a member of the band The Sax Pistols for 4 years. Becca is currently working on advanced Royal Conservatory piano and theory and is very excited to be teaching piano lessons at Long & McQuade Regina.

Ben Redant - Piano, Voice music lessons in Regina

Ben Redant (Piano, Voice)

Ben has been playing music since a very young age and has completed RCM Grade 8. Ben has worked extensively all over Saskatchewan as an accompanist and musical director, specializing in musical theatre. His show credits include Smokey Joe’s Cafe for Regina Summer Stage, Avenue Q and The Rocky Horror Show for Sterling Productions, and The Marvellous Wonderettes and 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee for Souris Valley Theatre. He has also taken the stage professionally with several companies, including Regina’s Globe Theatre as an actor and musician, recently performing in 2015’s Ring of Fire. Ben has been offering piano and voice lessons in Regina since 2015.

Brad Evanochko - Guitar, Bass, Rock Skool music lessons in Regina

Brad Evanochko (Guitar, Bass, Rock Skool)

Brad teaches a wide variety of musical styles on the guitar and bass including pop, rock, jazz, blues, and country. Brad has been teaching acoustic and electric guitar and bass since the mid 90's to all ages and abilities. Brad’s strengths include musical theory and technique, melodic improvisation and progressions, composition and ear training. He is involved with local band Sonic Orchid, has recorded and released albums, and performed at many venues throughout Western Canada including the annual summer festival Craven Rock Weekend. He also actively performs in local cover band Dangerous Cheese and 90’s rock band Whatever. Brad is also the coach and instructor for Long and McQuade's very popular Rock Skool program.
Brad offers guitar lessons at the Regina location and his rate is $25 per half hour.

Brandon Dickson - Drums, Hand Drums music lessons in Regina

Brandon Dickson (Drums, Hand Drums)

Brandon has been playing the drums since the mid 2000's and has been teaching since 2013. Brandon has played and toured with the Ukraine Poltava Orchestra and has also played in a hand drumming group known as “Tribal Vibes”. He has played in multiple other bands ranging from rock to jazz. He strongly believes in the equality of all limbs and how to apply rudiments effectively on the kit.

Brenda is a certified elementary and intermediate specialist through the Royal Conservatory of Music. She has been teaching piano, organ, and guitar since 1980. Brenda has experience with MIDI and multi-track recording, she composes and arranges music for herself and her students, and she prepares students for Royal Conservatory examinations and music festivals. Brenda believes in continuous learning and professional development, and is always looking for new ways to teach concepts in private lessons and master classes. Her unique teaching approach has motivated students to become teachers, recording artists, composers, and to generally enjoy making music. Brenda’s students benefit from her lineage, a 3rd generation student of Beethoven.

Brianna has been playing violin and clarinet since early childhood. She has participated in ensembles with both instruments and has competed in violin festivals where she has placed 1st the past two years. Brianna was a member of the Southern Saskatchewan Youth Orchestra in 2014 and 2015. She was trained in the Suzuki method, and is able to play both classical and contemporary. Brianna continues to train and develop her skills.

Burns has been playing guitar and bass since the early 90's and has been teaching since 2005. He has had extensive training in a wide variety of musical genres including jazz, blues, folk, and metal. Burns has received his advanced theory certificate with the Royal Conservatory of Music and is continuing his studies of advanced harmony. He has performed with many groups over the past 20 years including a church worship group, and his latest project The Android Jackie O.

Carter Powley - Woodwinds, Clarinet, Saxophone, Flute music lessons in Regina

Carter Powley (Woodwinds, Clarinet, Saxophone, Flute)

Carter is an active freelance saxophonist, clarinetist, flautist, composer/arranger, and educator, holding degrees in music composition and education from the University of Regina. His repertoire both as a player and writer ranges from jazz to classical, funk, rock, latin, blues, and more.
Carter has been an active educator in Regina for over a decade both privately and in school band programs. Many have recognized Powley’s gifts both for writing and playing and as a freshman at the U of R he had his works performed by professional orchestras in Kitchener-Waterloo and Regina. Carter can be found performing in many settings in Regina and throughout Saskatchewan and beyond.
Carter's lessons focus on fundamentals of technique, harmony, sight-reading, ear training, musical form and history, and repertoire. Students are introduced to the physical aspects of wind instrument performance such as posture, breath support, and hand position.

Chloe Golden (Voice, Piano)

Originally from Swift Current, Chloe is currently studying Music Education at the University of Regina. She has her Grade 8 Voice and Piano with the Royal Conservatory of Music. Chloe is involved with various groups in the city including the University Chamber Singers and Concert Choir, Wascana Voices, Saskatchewan Youth Choir, and the University Wind Ensemble. In addition to singing, she plays the French Horn and the piano.

Curtis Hinks - Drums music lessons in Regina

Curtis has been playing drums since the young age of 11. He has been a student of the Lesson Centre since 2009 and has studied a wide variety of musical styles during this time. He has been a sought after substitute instructor with Long & McQuade for the last year. Curtis is a member of the Saskatchewan Roughrider Drumline and won the Rookie of the Year award in 2016. During his high school years, Curtis was the lead drummer for his high school choral program. He has also been a participant with Long & McQuade's Rock Band program for 4 years with his band Jaded Wave. Curtis enjoys playing and teaching several different styles of music ranging from basic drum rudiments, to rock, metal, and pop techniques.

Dan Silljer (Guitar, Bass)

Dan is an accomplished musician who has shared the stage with an impressive array of talents in a wide variety of styles. Dan has toured with Virgin/Atlantic recording artist & Juno award winner Serena Ryder and Warner Brothers Six Shooter, and Juno award winning artist Jason Plumb formerly of the Waltons. He has also shared the stage with artists around the world including; John Blackwell (drummer for Prince) Greg Boyer (Trombone for Prince and Parliament Funkadelic) Jeff Healey, Bazil Donovan and Glen Milchem (Blue Rodeo),and Kevin Hearns (Barenaked Ladies). Dan brings a wealth of experience and musical knowledge to his students. Well trained in Theory (studied under Much Music Guitar wars winner Jack Semple for two years) Dan can teach a variety of practical lessons in a variety of musical styles.

Dennon Jonasson (Guitar, Bass)

Dennon has been playing guitar and honing in on his technique since the age of seven. He is always advancing his own knowledge and discovering new ways to play the strings and new ways to teach them. He has played in several local bands throughout the city, and is currently working on a solo guitar rock project. Dennon can offer both his guitar and bass students a wide range of material including basic chord progressions and scale positions and advanced virtuoso-esque styles. Whether its country, rock, metal, blues, funk, pop, or punk, he is eager to bring knowledge to anyone willing to have fun and learn!

Jack Dublanica (Banjo, Mandolin, Fiddle)

Jack has a BA in Theory and Music History and has been playing the banjo and fiddle for over 30 years. He started teaching in 1995 and has experience teaching all ages of students in both private and group lessons. Jack has played with bluegrass/folk and bluegrass/country bands, including Home Brood, Citybilly, and Cactus Jack and the Rounders. He has performed at the Regina Folk Festival and The Big Valley Jamboree. He is currently a member of Binder Twine and the Bales. Jack teaches 5 string banjo, fiddle and mandolin in many styles including Celtic, Cape Breton and classical.

Jamie has been studying piano for over 10 years. She has her grade 8 piano and all theory co-requisites with the Royal Conservatory of Music. Joe started playing drums in 1987 at the age of 5, and has continued to heavily pursue the instrument ever since. He began teaching in 2005, and has been an instructor with Long & McQuade since 2014. Prior to teaching, Joe studied in the Berkeley Music Program at Selkirk College in Nelson B.C. He has been involved in several punk and heavy metal bands creating/performing original music since the age of 14 and won an award for best music production from the Saskatchewan Drama Association at the age of 17. He currently plays with the band Sing the Body Electric. Joe is able to teach a wide range of genres from jazz sambas to heavy metal, and is enthusiastic about helping students develop their own solid stage presence.

Kristine has her Grade 9 Royal Conservatory Piano and holds a Distinguished Teacher/Examiner Award in popular piano teaching. She is a professional accompanist for vocalists and instrumentalists, and has over twenty-five years of teaching experience. She has co-written and piloted programs for pre-school children and primary piano students. She also enjoys performing and is currently the church pianist at St. James United Church. Kristine specializes in group instruction and young beginners, as well as preparing senior students for examinations and music festivals.

Lisa has more than fifteen years of experience teaching children and adults, both private and group lessons. She has advanced certification in organ (Grade 7 Conservatory Canada - formerly Western Board of Music), piano (Royal Conservatory of Music Level 8) and all theory requirements. She is currently working on her level 9 RCM. She has experience with arranging popular and jazz music as well as creating electronic music arrangements. Mandy Ebel - Voice, Piano, Song-Writing music lessons in Regina

Mandy Ebel (Voice, Piano, Song-Writing)

Mandy holds both a Vocal Performance Diploma, and a Music Production/Engineering Diploma from Selkirk Music College in Nelson, BC. She values the importance of obtaining a strong vocal foundation, including diaphragm breathing and control, proper tone placement, broadening one’s vocal range from low to high notes, pitch correction, vibrato, projection techniques and proper vowel enunciation.

Mandy has obtained advanced levels in classical piano and theory with the Royal Conservatory of Music. While encouraging piano students to play what they love, she also tries to open up their ears and minds to trying new genres, while incorporating music theory and history.

Mandy has also pursued song-writing and has won multiple National and International awards for her original music. Additionally, she offers guidance on song-writing and provides a mentor approach to her teaching style, which is especially helpful for those up and coming artists who are looking to break into the music industry

Megan has been playing violin and viola since 2000 with a focus on classical repertoire and technique. She has her Grade 8 with First Class Honours in Viola from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Megan has been a member of the Regina Symphony Orchestra for the past ten years, and currently holds the position of Assistant Principal Viola. She also performs with various chamber music groups in the city and has taken theory lessons through the University of Regina.

Meghan Bowman - Voice music lessons in Regina

Meghan Bowman (Voice)

Meghan was born and raised in the heart of Saskatchewan and has been playing piano and singing since she was six years old. She started writing songs in her adolescence and began to perform these songs publicly when she was seventeen. Meghan has completed four years of her Bachelor of Music Therapy degree and is working on finishing her music therapy internship hours. Meghan began her post secondary education as a Vocal Major at the University of Regina and received an honours mark on her Grade 8 Voice Exam with the Royal Conservatory of Music. She recently took her Advanced Harmony exam with the Royal Conservatory of Music as well.

Meghan has experience working with children with ADD, ASD, CP and ABI as well as children dealing with behavioural issues. She received Rawlco Radio’s 10K20 grant to create her album, I Don’t Want Your Roses, in 2010 and recently released a follow up album, The Watchmen, in 2015 with funding from Creative Saskatchewan.

Natalia Espinosa (Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass)

Natalia has her Bachelor of Music Performance and Music History from both the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City, and the University of Regina – where she is completing her Masters in Music Theory. She is an accomplished performer, having previously played as 1st violinist with the Regina Symphony Orchestra under the guidance of Concertmaster Eduard Minevich, and is currently active in Artime, the Regina Community Orchestra, Concertino Regina, and the Ben Winoski Project. She’s also a member of Early Music America. Aside from playing in the RSO, Natalia studied Cello under the former Principal Cellist, Cameron Lowe. Nina has her Grade 9 Piano as well as the History and Harmony requirements, and intermediate theory with the Royal Conservatory of Music. She enjoys accompanying and performing at public events. Nina has almost thirty years of teaching experience. Her specialties include exam preparation (classical, popular, and theoretical) and helping special needs students to achieve success. Nina has also taken training on handling stress and uses the Brain Gym techniques as learning tools. She is listed as a recommended teacher for special needs children with the Autism Resource Centre. She continues to expand her knowledge and credentials in advanced history and harmony with the Royal Conservatory, and is currently studying for her Grade 10 RCM

Roberta Wallace (Violin, Piano)

Roberta is an accomplished violin and fiddle player currently completing her Bachelor of Music in Music History at the University of Regina. She holds the position of concertmaster of the University Orchestra and has previously performed with the Regina Symphony Orchestra. In addition to classical violin, Roberta plays old-time, Irish and Cape Breton fiddle, having studied in Nova Scotia for two years. Active in the fiddle scene in Saskatchewan, she has taught at the Kenosee Lake Kitchen Party, and plays with the Celtic band West of Mabou - who have released their first CD, available on iTunes December 2016 (http://westofmabou.ca/)! She also holds her Royal Conservatory Grade IX in piano, and regularly accompanies students in lessons and recitals. Roberta has many years of experience teaching traditional violin, Suzuki violin, and fiddle, and is comfortable teaching both kids (4+) and adults private and/or group lessons.

Stephen is an experienced trumpet player, performer, and band teacher.  He is a graduate of the U of R music education program and has been teaching and playing professionally in the Regina and surrounding area for almost 10 years.  He is a multi-instrumentalist who has enjoyed playing music in classical, jazz, and rock settings.  He has taught individual music lessons as well as group band classes to students of all ages and abilities.  Students can expect material that will be adapted to their individual needs and can include the student's current band repertoire and solo work to supplement their playing.  Stephen is experienced in instruction in classical music as well as jazz, rock, and other genres.  Expect a strong focus on fundamentals, tone, and music theory.
