Joelle Nielsen B.Mus (Clarinet, Flute, Oboe, Saxophone) Registration Request

Joelle Nielsen started playing the clarinet 20 years ago, achieving her B.Mus in performance from Brandon University in 2014. During that time she has played with National youth band, pit ensembles for musical theatre productions, and as part of small ensembles that performed with the WSO’s pre-concert series and at ICA’s Clarinet Festival, as well as competing Nationally as part of a chamber group. Joelle has been teaching woodwind clinics in Manitoba and Saskatchewan since 2009, and started teaching privately in Northeast Saskatchewan in 2018. Joelle teaches woodwinds at the Regina store. Her rate is $26 per half hour.

Katlyn Redding is a Regina-based music educator. Katlyn has been teaching band, choir and private lessons for 12 years in Regina and area, including running a successful program in the Prairie Valley School Division. Katlyn has a BMusEd (2010) and a MMus (2019) from the University of Regina where she studied with many great mentors. Outside of school, Katlyn is the president of the Saskatchewan Music Educators Association, Chair-person of the provincial honour groups as well as an active musician. Katlyn lives in Regina with her dog Ginny who loves walk, scratches and treats. Katlyn teaches brass and woodwinds at the Regina store. Her rate is $27 per half hour.

Beginner Ukulele Group (Burns James Holland)

Learn the basics of ukulele in a small group setting.
Lessons will be held each Tuesday from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm starting September 19, 2023.
Participants must be 5 years old or older and bring their own ukulele. You can rent a ukulele from our store if you do not own one.

Beginner Violin Group (Ellen MacPherson)

Learn the basics of violin in a small group setting.
In this fun group program you will discover how to hold your violin & bow, how to take care of your instrument, and the foundations of notes, rhythm, and melodies.
Lessons will be held each Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm starting September 20, 2023.
Participants must be between the ages of 6 to 12 and bring their own violin. You can rent a violin from our store if you do not own one.

Violin Ensemble (Ellen MacPherson)

In this fun group program you will discover:
- how to work cooperatively and cohesively with other musicians
- critical skills necessary for orchestral playing
- how to strengthen your technique and sight reading skills
- various musical “parts” in Suzuki and traditional repertoire
- low pressure performance opportunities with your peers
Lessons will be held bi-weekly on Wednesdays from 7:45 pm to 8:30 pm starting September 27, 2023.
Participants must be aged 12 and up and bring their own violin. You can rent a violin from our store if you do not own one.

Online - Parent and Child Violin Group (Ellen MacPherson)
