Avery Hesse (Piano) Registration Request

Avery Hesse has been a student of Long and McQuade for over ten years. She has been studying piano for many years and holds her RCM level 8 for piano and theory. Avery enjoys a wide range of classical repertoire as well as more contemporary styles of music from video games, movies, and various internet media. She also enjoys popular music along with arranging. Avery has consistently participated in recitals and music festivals during her piano studies. She looks forward to sharing her enjoyment of music with her students. Avery is currently offering only online video lessons for the Regina store. Her rate is $24 per half hour.

Brenda Stettner (Piano) Registration Request

Brenda is a certified elementary and intermediate specialist through the Royal Conservatory of Music. She has been teaching piano, organ, and guitar since 1980. Brenda has experience with MIDI and multi-track recording, she composes and arranges music for herself and her students, and she prepares students for Royal Conservatory examinations and music festivals. Brenda believes in continuous learning and professional development, and is always looking for new ways to teach concepts in private lessons and master classes. Her unique teaching approach has motivated students to become teachers, recording artists, composers, and to generally enjoy making music. Brenda’s students benefit from her lineage, a 3rd generation student of Beethoven. Brenda teaches piano at the Regina store.

Danielle Ulatan began playing piano at Long & McQuade at the young age of five. She is a graduate of Luther College High School and currently attends the University of Regina for studies in Pre-Law. For the duration of her high school career, she involved herself in the Luther music program. Danielle participated in her school's band as a flutist. She was also a member of the Luther College Girls Choir, Senior Choir, and Advanced Vocal Ensemble (AVE). Danielle loved to involve herself in music based extra-curricular activities, such as Luther's annual musicals. Throughout her studies in piano, Danielle has participated in many annual concerts, recitals, and even achieved distinction for orchestral piano in the Long & McQuade Music Festival. She is currently working on advanced levels of Royal Conservatory Piano. She looks forward to teaching students and hopes to help them find a passion for music. Hannah Wildman has her Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of Regina. In university, she specialized in percussion performance playing everything from classical to modern day repertoire. She has also completed her Royal Conservatory Grade 9 piano and Grade 8 Voice as well as Advanced Rudiments theory, and History and Harmony co requisites for Grade 9. Hannah has experience with everything from classical to contemporary music, but her passion lies most in helping students prepare for the Royal Conservatory exams. Hannah loves to share her passion for music with those around her and hopes to inspire her students to use music as a way to enhance their everyday lives. Joshua's musical journey began at a young age when he was first introduced to music by his family, which led him to develop a keen interest in all kinds of music. Joshua enjoys learning, and teaching, classical music, jazz, contemporary and video game pieces, music from different countries around the world, and adding his own touch to music through arranging. Joshua holds an RCM level 8 in piano, was a past Gold Medal recipient (highest mark in the province), and continues to expand on his practical and theoretical knowledge. He actively performs in recitals and music festivals and has won numerous awards and scholarships over the years. Joshua has been offering his services as a substitute teacher with Long and McQuade for the past year and has become a highly sought after instructor. Kristine has her Grade 9 Royal Conservatory Piano and holds a Distinguished Teacher/Examiner Award in popular piano teaching. She is a professional accompanist for vocalists and instrumentalists, and has over twenty-five years of teaching experience. Lee Stubbe (M.Mus, B.Mus) started playing piano when he was 8. Alongside classical repertoire, he spent hours learning & arranging songs from radio, games, or favourite albums. He holds an undergraduate degree in piano performance, and enjoys a full-time music career: accompanying singers, choirs and instruments of all levels; performing; and leading choirs, directing his church choir. He has cultivated improvisational skills on piano & harpsichord. Lee has been teaching piano students of all levels for 6 years, believing in cultivating well-rounded musicians: not only able to play written music and lead sheets; but learning and arranging by ear, and creating music through improvisation. A top goal is teaching students to play with effortless technique, free of tension, with a variety of physical approaches. Lee firmly believes students learn best when they feel supported and have fun. He teaches students effective practice habits, and helps set progress goals.

Mandy Ubell holds both a Vocal Performance Diploma, and a Music Production/Engineering Diploma from Selkirk Music College in Nelson, BC. She values the importance of obtaining a strong vocal foundation, including diaphragm breathing and control, proper tone placement, broadening one’s vocal range from low to high notes, pitch correction, vibrato, projection techniques and proper vowel enunciation. Mandy has obtained advanced levels in classical piano and theory with the Royal Conservatory of Music. Nina Maxwell is a Royal Conservatory of Music Certified teacher for elementary and intermediate piano. She holds her Grade 9 Piano, and Theory and History/Harmony Grades 9 and 10 with the Royal Conservatory of Music. She continues to expand her knowledge and credentials and is currently studying for her Grade 10 Piano and Elementary Piano Pedagogy through the RCM.
