Nice fender clean tones on Channel 1. 16 amp models on Channel 2. I like the Bassman, Vox and 80's Marshall settings on Channel 2 myself. It's pretty loud for 15 watts. Mic it for bigger gigs. I added an effects loop which made the amp even more flexible. Put an EQ pedal in the loop and you can change the tone and boost the volume for solos. The on board effects are nice as well. To me the amp from the factory sounds a little on the dark side, but it depends on the guitar and speaker as well. There is no mid range control on the front so you need to connect to a computer to adjust that. Overall it's a pretty good product.

Clean channel is classic Fender goodness. Plug in a Strat or Tele and you're good to go.. Channel 2 has the amp modeling and is very versatile. I bought this for a home studio and put the head in my rack and the matching SC112 cab in an isolation closet. Volume on 3 or 4 is plenty loud enough to record and not bother the wife or neighbours. This is a one-stop shop amp. Many usable amp models. The effects are also very good from vibrato to reverb. It also has a line out which is handy. The only thing I wish it had was a standby switch. I was lucky enough to get a used one in 10/10 condition at the Port Coquitlam store for half price. There is no way you will regret buying this. Perfect for home studio/bedroom use.

I can not speak from experience. do not have the ten`s of thousands to lay down for the amp`s this models. This amp if my ears are not deceiving me comes extremely close. Tried the used combo and was sold in 5 min`s. feeling I have more tonal options with a head. I believe these are already out of production. So grab one if you can. Sounds very tube to me. If this came with a mid pot presence pot & standby you would have a complete package. I guess you cannot ever have if all. I sincerely believe the engineers are thinking this way with product`s. If not, one model brand would destroy all the competition. My conspiracy theory. G.

I didn't know what to expect with this amp and its price range, but I was extremely pleased with the results. Amp modeled "voices" give you pretty much any sound you can think of, and the clean channel as to be expected from a Fender is great. The bonus was the ability to plug this into a computer to use as an interface and the accompanying FUSE software. Wow GREAT buy for the money.

I traded a in Blues Junior III for this amp and I am very glad I did. The BJIII was very good but flexibility of this amp was more suited to me. It shows its quality with a good quality cab!

I did quite a bit of reading before pulling the trigger on a NEW Super Champ X2 + Fender 112 cab($498 total). Buying a new amp (first time for me I think) is sort of like buying a new car, lose 25% when you drive off the lot, + a painful $65 donation to the G, however, I was convinced this would be a good fit and I had not found any used with the head/cabinet configuration in the TO area. So down to brass tacks, I have fooled around with this little beauty for maybe 10 hours to date and it is almost as addicting as Breaking Bad, The Wire, early Sopranos, or cold beer on a hot day! Channel 1, lovely Fender clean, has no real break up, even when cranked to 8 (VERY LOUD), so you will need an overdrive stomp in front of the amp for crunch. My Blues Driver sounds quite amazing between my JazzMaster RI and the input jack on the front panel. Yes, no stand bye switch, however, not a big issue to allow a few seconds of warm up, warm down. The 2 knob eq (Treble,Bass) dials into both channels and going on Fender Fuse you can take the Mid down, which is advisable, from the factory setting of 8 or 9. The effects are also live for Channel 1 use, however, the amp simulators (voice knob) is only avail for Channel 2 use. But I still have 2 dirt channels, the BD on Chan 1 and the gain on Chan 2. (Footswitch extra $23) Channel 2...sweet, vintage voicing and tone...use the 16 position voice dial to choose your amp. I am loving #7, '65 Deluxe...wow, amazing warm tone, even without these tubes and speaker broken in yet. Surprisingly to me, the '65 Deluxe provides fuller overall response and bottom end than the Bassman simulator. The Twin Reverb's voice is bright and clean, with little break up, just like my old Twin Reverb silver face, blue printing, circa 1974 ;(why do we sell our prized amps for a few hundred bucks when we are young and foolish?) The break up on the '65 Deluxe is quite lush and realistic, try the gain around 5-7 with the volume at 5 or 6 and get that nice thick crunch a la Stones, AC/DC, etc. Now for the digital schtuff...some of the voices are not so great, the 90's, 2000's metal, not so good, I can't get a Soundgarden or STP sound out of it, but I am sure someone on Fender Fuse has. The Clean Jazz #16 is pretty cool, but I relly think the simulators from 1-9, the traditional vintage Fender amps are well done...the Champs do well, they sound like small speaker, compressed tone boxes, but again I am really partial to the '65 Deluxe...likley cuz I had a near mint Deluxe Rev in my late teens, again, silver face, blue printing, that I sold for $200 and a used Squire Tele...wtf was I thinking:/. The digital FX knob is quite useable and cool, open Fender Fuse to appreciate the detail that goes into these effects...I am digging the Fender Long Spring Reverb with Delay added at about 1/2 speed. About Fender Fuse, it is pretty easy if you have a bit of tech knowledge. Hint for dummies like me, download Fuse, then once it is on your homepage, click on the Fender Fuse icon...NOT THE WEBPAGE again, like me...idiot...and follow the instructions...btw you have to consult the Fender Fuse manual, the link is found under the Fender Fuse quick set up guide. Once you register, do the firmware sync, and follow the first time set up, its easy after that, just turn amp on with USB connected to your computer or iPad, click on Fender Fuse icon on your desktop and the Presets screen will come up. Do yourself a favour, print the Fender Fuse Manual (10 pages) and read it a few times and you will soon see how to adjust your Mid down on Chan 1 and most other amp models, tweak the numerous pre and post effects with cool virtual stomp boxes or rack effects and also do some deep editing to bias, noise gate, speaker cabinet in Advanced Amp...very cool. I am now digging into Band tracks (which may play thru the amp with you, I think you adjust usb gain under Advanced Amp). Also look forward to download Fender's and user's sound presets. And contrary to some comments, it seems you CAN save your own preset voices and effects to your desired positions on their respective 2 knobs, but this I have yet to tackle. I was considering a used Blues Junior or Deluxe Blues, but wanted small amp break up. I wasn't happy with the Super Champ combo with the 10" speaker...this head/cab blows them all away. I jammed a few songs with a buddy on drums the other night and on Chan 2, voice #7, Gain 5, Vol 6, I was cutting through...so when you need it, I am sure you can push this little marvel to Gain 6 or 7 and Vol 6 or 7 and have lots of crunch with still enough headroom. I want to add a 212 to this or another single 12 for larger stage work, if impedance allows? I give 8 on quality for some peeling tolex off the back of the cabinet along 2 seams, and some slightly shoddy grillcloth work on the front of the head, but very minor issues indeed. Overall a solid 9 and I am very happy I went this route...next, find a DRRI VM...a few used for $500 ish, but this rig was $500 and I will keep it new for the rest of my time above ground and will pass it on to a young tube lover. Cheers.

Over the years I have spent a fair chunk of change on my amps, tube swaps, and mods. 8 months ago I bought a Super Champ X2 and the matching SC112 cab, on a whim. Took it home and was blown away by the combination. The cab is excellently matched to the head and it absolutely sings with a beautiful vintage break up when pushed. I was amazed enough by this cab/amp combination that i bought a second setup and went stereo. This makes for a really loud, GREAT sounding little rig. I didn't lose my pedalboard, but the voices and effects are really top drawer and add favourably to the end product. My only two complaints are so minor that I only mention them for your info. It would be nice to be able to plug in a second cab, if wanted, and I sort of miss the standby switch, like my other tube amps have, but understand this really is nit picking, You'd be hard pressed to find more bang for the buck, or possibly even twice the bucks.

This amp is IT! 15W is more than plenty. I got the matching 112 external cabinet as well: 12" celestion speaker has depth and tons of warmth. No loudspeaker break up like on my previous crappy solid-state modeling amp. I say without reservation that I am finally happy with my guitar sound, and it cost me just over $500, (not $1k like I thought it might). My Les Paul showed me what a ballsy growling monster it can be: tones I've never heard; smoother and wider frequency range than I've ever expected. Clean power supply and tubes providing real analog smoothness and the distortion sounds so good. With digital control and processing artfully married. By downloading the FUSE program (they have it for Mac too) There is a whole plethora of settings you can tweak and new sounds you can download. Funnily, except for the usb jack on the back of the unit, you wouldn't know there is all of this digital/ computer control available for this amp, as I would be happy just running it the way it is , with the provided presets, in an analog sense, but if you want, that vast world of digital control is there. The Super Champ X2 is such a great deal, is relatively compact in size, has a wide variety of different sounds, has high quality reverbs with natural sounding decay; is recordable through usb onto a computer (did successful test recording into Garage Band), and has editable effect settings via computer. And probably due to popular demand, they've added a virtual Midrange tone setting accessible on the computer. I don't think I'll ever wonder again what my guitars would sound like through an excellent tube amp, because this amp is it -it feels so right.

I run this amp with a 4x12 Marshall cabinet with Celestions and this allows this amp to breath! With the cab it plays quite loud and yet super sweet and has that warm tube sound that electronics just cant duplicate. I tried at least 20 tube combo amps out before settling on getting this head with a cabinet. It is awesome!

40 yr of playing history, got tired of hauling gear; trapped in the indecision on 15 watts being an adequate output - then Fender released this very clean dual channel amp with DI out, voila; no regrets. The dual button pedal 0071359000 is a must have. Running mine into a 15" celestion PA spkr, sometimes into a 4 -12 and its always predictably sweet. The GTubes were a nice surprize - sure beat the boutique amp pricing...with reverb!

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
