Product ExperienceI've tried it

Been playing a nice J Bovier f style for 5 months, and seemed to reach a wall speed and tone wise. Tried this Eastman which they just got in, and I could not put it down. Managed to try it for awhile, and found the following differences. My fingers are a tad shorter, and this was causing an issue with the Bovier due to the rounder neck, and wider frets which increased the scale slightly requiring a slightly increased stretch for 4 finger chords - heck even 3 finger G &C. The shape of the Eastman neck just seems to flow letting the fingers go without hesitation, especially with quick chord changes. Also the normal width frets tighten up the scale and just suit my hands better than fat frets. The jigs and reels just play so much easier and faster, but I cannot say enough about that violin style neck. The build quality of these Eastmans is first rate, and flamed maple with a classic finish is visually stunning. Tuners are very positive and easier to adjust. Sound is just perfect, and you can really dig into those strings to punch out the sound without it breaking down. A light touch still gives tone and textures to the sound. I am really impressed with this line of mandolins. Yes - I've ordered an Eastman.
