Bought this mandolin in januaray of 2013 as a step up fro the ephiphone I taught myself on. The radius fingerboard and violin style neck feel amazing snd smooth. Factory setup was well done, very nice finish and fit. Best of all, the sound is everything I ould have dreamed, and only getting better by the day with it being summer time now. The spruce loves the Sun and opens up a little more with every play. My local shop recentoy got I the gibson jam master (2500) and it doesnt hold a candle to the punch and sustain of the eastman. I highly recomend eastman mandolins, they are far from a cheap import, they are quality made instruments by luthiers, at a price that csnt be beat
