For most of us, the word "knight" conjures images of castles, dragons, and the legendary King Arthur, whose Knights of the Round Table lived and died defending the land of Camelot. While the medieval period is thought to be a time of mystical adventure, it was really a time of constant social strife and harsh daily living. Because battles and assassinations were commonplace in medieval England, local lords organized band of young fighting men for protection. These men, known as knights, were rewarded with the spoils of war. While being a knight could be profitable, it could also be deadly.Quest of the Black Knight musically depicts the journey of a medieval knight. Guided by a code of chivalry, the Black Knight possesses an unwavering commitment to courage, justice, loyalty, faith, and humility.
