I wanted great sound and a larger range of sounds and these headphones just fit the bill. I do enjoy listening a much louder volume and with the additional amp in the headphones you have a couple of choices to accomplish this. You will need to charge the headphones to use the amp and when the battery goes out you can still listen your music in the passive mode. Let me tell you it is great to listen to your music in the passive mode so you can just imagine how it can be when the internal amp of the headphones is on. These headphones work wonders on my Iphone and ipad. The folks at the Charlottetown store were great in helping me to choose these headphones.

I purchased these headphones after a lot of shopping. I own Kef m500's (which are fantastic), compared the Mo-fi's to the B&W P7's, B&O H6's and many other headphones in this price range. If you are driving your headphones directly from a laptop or portable device, I found that these had the most exciting sound stage and offered a lot of versatility. I personally have had no issues with the almost 1 lb weight of the mo-fi's. The build quality is great and the sound is clear. If you drive your headphones from a dedicated amp, these aren't your best buy..but for those who require a portable amp..you will not regret giving these a try.

Recently purchased the Mo-fi's and I must say that I absolutely love them. I have been in search of a solid pair of headphones with great detail and subtle bass extension that sound hi-fi straight from my Macbook & iPod. I had been using Kef M500's and they are a fantastic neutral headphone that are worth every penny. They do however lack some character when used without an amp. Tried the Bowers and Wilkin's P7's - very expansive sound stage but not a remarkable difference from the Kef's sound quality. The Blue Mo-fi's are amazing right out of the box and sound great even without the amp on. Its really nice to have the flexibility to adjust amp preferences based on my listening needs. They are pricey and weight almost 1lb. The build quality is great and if you can find the right fit on your head the weight becomes a non-issue. There are obviously many great headphone options within the $400 price bracket, however it is a challenge to find a headphone that has such an immersive soundstage with crisp bass and mids that can be driven without a separate amp. By no means are these the final word in audiophile portability, however if they fit your needs I am confident that you will be happy with the investment. Btw..I had some great assistance from the helpful staff at the Oshawa Long & Mcquade store.
