Great mics for drum overheads. Nice and transparent top end, flat mid and low (just what you want) so very little coloring. My prior overheads were Rode M5s. They were very good for overheads for the price, but the NT5s have exceeded my expectations based on the price point. Highly recommend.

Great for overheads on drums. Nice transient response, maybe a tad to bright depending on mic distance. Fairly flat through the mid and low end, and that is a good thing. Overall well worth the price. I have had great luck with Rodes mics, highly recommend.

I used these as stereo overhead drum mics. They captured the cymbals and the toms very nicely! No need for tom mics yet. I haven't tried it on guitar or vocals yet, but I hear it works well for that as well
