Vandall's Historic Virginia highlights the history of Virginia in four movements. The magnificent mountains in the state are depicted in the sweeping lyricism of the third movement, Mountain Sunrise. Running on the Beach closes the suite with a lively tempo, staccato articulations and changing meters, celebrating the many seashores in Virginia.
