Outstanding Tone

Boasting a truly amazing array of instantly switchable sounds, overflowing with harmonically rich tones and responsive fluidity, every JVM mode exudes that unmistakable Marshall sound and expands on it, effectively offering multiple Marshalls in one easy-to-use package.

Ultimate Flexibility
Each totally independent JVM channel offers three footswitchable modes which progressively add gain while offering a complimentary tonal topology, making the JVM the perfect amplifier for any situation. The JVM's layout is simple and uncompromising with dedicated Gain, 3-band EQ, Volume and Reverb for each channel. The Master section, featuring Dual Master Volumes, Resonance and Presence, finishes the concise layout, making each JVM a familiar "old friend" that's intuitive to use. Even with its programmability, multiple channels and modes plus switchable Reverb, FX Loop and Master Volume, each JVM is incredibly easy to navigate and understand.

Absolutely astonishing. All the gain you will ever need for metal and hard rock genres with a great clean channel to boot. Pair this with a 10 band EQ and a decent overdrive pedal and you're pretty much smooth sailing. Its incredibly loud so look into buying a quality attenuator if you plan on using this for bedroom playing!

my new rig consists of a marshall jvm 205 head and an orange closed back ppc 212 cab both purchased at long and mcquade. no word of a lie it makes my 2 gibson sgs (standard & 61 reissue) roar. it might even melt peoples faces off if turned up to full volume lol. its a two channel amp that consists of three different settings: green, orange & red and also comes with a programmable foot switch. for me the only down side is its a high gain amp its gives off quite a lot of hum. easy fix when paired with an ips noise gate.

This is the "Working Musician's" amplifier. All you need is this, your guitar and your hands. With the channel foot-switch, you can have 4 sounds from the Cleanest Cleans, Vintage Crunch, Hi-Gain, to a Lead Channel, for all the same show you are playing at. This is a very dynamic amplifier. Change the tone just with picking dynamics, different picks, and with a decent guitar pickup/volume pot, it will clean up even the sound of the hi-gain channel by dialing it back on the guitar. You won't need any compressor or boost pedal for sustain or Hi-Gain for Heavy-Metal Genres. You also won't need a boost pedal for Lead Guitar Solos, as the amplifier "Master 2" Channel/Volume does just that, for each Channel. This also includes the Hi-Gain channel, to cut through the mix of the heaviest guitar mixes in the Heavy Metal Genre, and them some, with plenty of head room to turn it up even more than you have to for your guitar solo to be heard 200%. The amp is plenty loud enough compared to it's 100 Watt version. You'd need to be playing in a field to need the 100 Watt Version. My pedal board now doesn't need my AMT Electronics S2 Hi Gain (Soldano emulator) Pre-Amp Pedal, or my Xotic EP Clean Booster for Hi-Gain guitar solos. My board now only includes my TC Electronics Polytuner, my ISP Noise Gate Decimator, and my Morley Volume Pedal. My tone is now the cleanest and purest it has ever been since getting this amp. I have been playing guitar for 10 years and I won't need another amplifier again. Maybe a backup head in the far future since I already have another Marshall head for backup (My now dinosaur of a head, the Marshall Valvestate). I play through a Washburn Original Idol WI-64 Electric Guitar. Mahogany Body, Rosewood Fret-board, Neck-Thru neck, with a Seymour Duncan SH-14 Custom Five in the Bridge, and a Seymour Duncan APH-1N Alnico II Pro in the neck. Like I said, all I play through is a TC Electronics Polytuner, A Morley Volume Pedal, and a ISP Decimator Noise Gate.

Years before...waaay back in the late '80's I had the JCM 800....it was GREAT for what it did, but I ended up selling her. Mistake? maybe, but along came this thing and I sure as hell don't miss the 800 anymore. Had a 900 reverb combo and it was alright, sold it, didn't like the DSL series so I ended up buying a Fender to get me by until I found "my Marshall" sound. This head has so much to offer in sounds that it can take you from Plexi/JTM45 cleans through JCM800 to modern high gain tones. Most versitile amp I have ever had!!

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
