So, for practicing most repertoire, it does alright.
It dampens frequencies quite well, but still remains clear enough to practice with.
Only problem is, if you are playing forte on the lower strings (especially an open C string) it will lose it's snugg-ness and pop off of the bridge slightly, then it buzzes loudly and causes all kinds of uncontrollable noises.
