Usually when a review emphasizes value, I assume there must be some trade off in quality. That's not true in this case. While this is simply a two channel mixer, it comes with everything you need and options that make it very useful with a variety of inputs. The audio quality is MUCH better than I had expected. I'm playing Vinyl on this unit for some casual gigging. The built in phono preamps are really good. I don't mean they aren't bad for the money, I mean they are really good. They outperform the $400.00 hand built phono preamp that I have been using. The board itself is laid out well, the controls are smooth and easy to use. The adjustable mix features are a pleasant surprise and the option for line input/phono input make this 2 channel unit flexible enough to accept almost any line device with the proper analog patch cables. EQ knobs are almost always responsible for making a bad thing worse. In this case the EQ adjustments are well designed for adding punch and balance, meaning you can tune the board to the speakers in the room you are playing in. Added bass is tight, not muddy, mids are useful for lifting up vocals and highs are nice and crisp without splattering. So there it is. Good physical design that makes it easy to spin mixes, audio components that deliver great sound plus options you can actually use in a well finished rackable metal case. It's a winner.
