Description

If you need to record your favorite tube amp direct, the Rockcrusher Recording is for you! This needed tone tool provides a super safe load for your favorite tube amp and gives you the most powerful all analog speaker emulator. The 11 bands of EQ chosen from 75hz to 4k is where most sought after guitar speakers are voiced. With these tuned 11 band of EQ, you'll be able to mimic most speaker and mic combinations and then make sound even better!! Other analog cabinet simulators usually have a fixed tone with "shades of grey" tone controls. There's a 3 position Pad switch to control the input level which maximizes the headroom of the Equalizer. The Level meter allows you to monitor either the power input or the line output. Each tone control has a red light to be able to quickly see your shape on the darkest stages. You can also completely bypass the EQ section with the flip of a switch. Rivera will be continually graphing speakers and mic combinations and posting results here.

Not only can you use the Rockcrusher recording as a load box and cab emulator, you can also use it's power attenuation section just like the standard RockCrusher. The Rockcrusher has quickly become the most recognized transparent power attenuator and here is why: Maintaining the natural amp tone is the challenge for all power attentuators. However, we built into the RockCrusher a reactive load network for proper speaker-amplifier interaction. Rather than a purely resistive load like many of the other power attenuators on the market, the Rock Crusher ensures that the amplifier and speaker see each other in a proper relationship of impedance and inductive/capacitive reactance. This translates to a superior tone, regardless of level. To enhance tonal balance, warmth, and shimmer, at ultra low volumes, there is an Edge and Warm switches that put you in total control of the final output.

In addition to providing superior tone, impedance matching is critical for your tube amp's health and longevity. We gave the RockCrusher an 8/16-ohm selector switch so you can use either value to accurately match your cabinets and amplifiers. Massive thermal capacity with convection cooling allows it to handle 120watts of Tube power with ease.
Rivera have also built in features that ensure the Rock Crusher is easy to use both onstage and in the studio. For bypass on the fly, which lets you use the amp with a speaker cabinet when full output level is desired, we included a front-panel full bypass switch that removes the load entirely. When low speaker volume is desired, there is a Studio position of the Attenuator Level Selector that enables the Studio Level control to adjust from low to quiet output--perfect for home, project, and studio recording.
Balanced XLR and unbalanced " phone jacks with a convenient front-panel level control allow interfacing with practically any audio equipment. Two Speaker jacks allow easy connection with up to two speaker enclosures.
Bullet-proof construction, a standard feature of Rivera equipment, is also engineered into the Rock Crusher: Within the 16-gauge welded steel chassis of the RockCrusher, heavy-duty and rugged industrial-grade components used throughout, designed to give you years of reliable, cool-running service.
