I purchased this amp as my first bass amp when I was still a beginner. It was a very solid amp and nice for practice. I used it for jamming as well but as time passed and I acquired more high end gear I stopped using my Rumble 15. I found it was pretty bulky so I stored it in a spare room for a while. I thought it would make for a good bedroom amp and took it out to play it after it sat untouched for about 6 months and when I plugged my bass in there was a loud backfiring sound and there has not been a kick out of the amp since. It was very disappointing and the warranty was expired. Nothing had happened to the amp that could have possibly done this as it was in a safe, dry place.

I just received one of these for a birthday present. I've been playing bass for almost 30 years now and I've owned just about everything out there, including some of the most expensive pro bass gear. This little Fender Rumble is a great little amp for at home practice. The 8" speaker provides excellent bass frequency response, almost equaling the quality of my old-school, pre-Fender SWR 100 watt combo. The 3 band EQ is OK considering the price. The headphone output works fantastically. While this is only 15 watts of solid state power, if you are looking for the perfect practice amp or beginner amp, stop right here, you found it, the $99 price tag is just a bonus.

I bought a small Ampeg BA108 with my first bass guitar, a used Ibanez BTB200 with active pickups. My main reason was because of the two passive/active inputs which made this a relatively logical choice for the bass I was purchasing. Great features, especially the tilt back position in the design of the cabinet. The name badge was pretty cool too. Unfortunately this amp although rated at 25 watts was completely unable to give any kind of volume with my bass. The speaker was very easily overwhelmed and there was a ''puffing'' sound of air being pushed through the sound of the bass that spoiled any possible enjoyment. The staff at the store was absolutely great, I replaced it with a Fender Rumble 15 watt amp, that for some reason, was able to handle the hot active pickups of my bass guitar flawlessly and give me so much more sound, and even more importantly, much better quality sound. I love this little Rumble 15, it is plain but effective. I now own a Yorkville Bassmaster 400 combo but I can't see ever going without the Rumble 15 for the convenience of using a compact amp with quality sound. It is also built like a tank which is important if you will be hauling it around the trunk for those friendly acoustic (or quiet) get togethers where you just want a little extra for your bass to fit in among the higher frequency instruments. The Rumble is capable of much more but is the perfect little companion for so many of those occasions when hauling the big beast is seriously over the top.

I was looking for a small bass amp so that I can practice in silence! not disturbing the rest of the household. I plug in my bass, headphones and computer and play along with youtube or CD's. This amp is perfect for this. I also use it when friends come over to jam or to play at quieter venues. It sounds great and is LIGHT! I have my 200watt yorkville amp for everything else. Love the Fender
