Chip joined the RCAF in 1973. In 1986 he decided he needed a career change and in 1986 enrolled in the Volunteer Musician Program at 14 Wing Canadian Forces Base, studying saxophone there until 1989 when he was transferred to 22 Wing CFB North Bay. Chip continued his studies at the Canadian Forces School of Music and did Basic Improvisation & Keyboard Method & Theory through Berklee College of Music. He was appointed Director of the 22 Wing CFB North Bay in 1998 and served there until 2016. He was the Ensemble Director and Saxophone Instructor for the Nipissing University Applied Music Programme. Chip has performed with the Central Band of The Canadian Forces, 8 Wing CFB Trenton, The Continentals Big Band, Nightshift Dance Band and still performs with the After Hours Jazz Combo and the 22 Wing Military Band. His Rate is $25 per 1/2 hour lesson.

A passionate educator, Chris has been teaching music for over 15 years, most recently at Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, CA where he taught and worked professionally for the past six years. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Chris has written, recorded and produced music for numerous albums, television shows, advertising campaigns and film soundtracks. A versatile performer, Chris has toured extensively as a Music Director and sideman in various musical genres throughout The United States, Canada, Europe and Japan.

Chris has been balancing a music career of performance and teaching for more than 40 years. Starting at a young age, his piano studies included Royal Conservatory, alongside pop and jazz. He went on to study with numerous jazz piano instructors in Toronto, and graduated from the Humber College music program. He also studied accordion for 10 years. In teaching piano (and accordion) Chris maintains a focus on developing well rounded students, incorporating many musical styles, including improvisation. He is comfortable with all levels and all ages, and can assist students preparing for college or university music programs. Chris is also experienced in teaching music theory, as well as working with ensembles.

Chris was born in Montreal Quebec and moved to BC when he was five, It wasn't long after that his love of music began to surface. His mother played jazz piano and his father played British invasion guitar mixed with the blues. So from an early age Chris had plenty of influences to choose from. His brother gave him a fretless bass when he was 9 followed by some guitars for various birthdays from his parents including a fender Stratocaster for his 16th.
After playing in bands in high school Chris was off to Capilano University where he studied jazz.immediatly following that he hit the ground running playing professionally in live in studio situations for the next 20 years.
He then switched from live to lessons and has been teaching steadily for the last six years. Chris takes great pleasure introducing people to music, watching them develop and hearing the tangible results.
His rate is $28 per half hour.

Christian Malette studied at the Cégep de Saint-Laurent and at the University of Montréal in jazz performance and arranging for large big band type ensembles. Christian took his blues classes with the Quebec bluesman Bob Walsh, accompanying him for more than 10 years. His career has led him to participate in many festivals across Quebec and France. He also accompanied the rocker Marjo for 6 years. You can hear him on the two albums of Marjo and his men Vol 1 and 2.

Christian also has his own orchestra with which he performs as a singer and leader. Passionate about his art, he likes to share it with young and old!

Soprano Christine Brandt was born in Kitchener, Ontario. She played the piano for 12 years before she began her studies in vocal performance at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, ON. While there she sang with the Maureen Forrester women’s choir where she had numerous opportunities for solo work. She received her Bachelor of Music in 2016 with a minor in psychology and has recently completed her Master's Degree at Mannes School of Music in New York City. Christine enjoys sharing her passion for music with others through teaching piano and voice lessons. She has worked with younger children to spark their interest in music through a music starters program. She has also worked with children’s choirs in her hometown of Kitchener.
